Alpha Montessori Launches Elementary Education

2011 has been a remarkable year for the school. We are pleased to announce that Ms. Anita, an elementary school teacher has joined us full time to fulfill our goal of bringing elementary education to the school. Ms. Anita has been in the field of education for the last three decades in a private school in Delhi. Her experience includes teaching children of all ages. She has taught science to 7-10 graders and has also been the headmistresses to the primary/elementary wing of the school.

In summer of 2011, Anita came to San Diego to take the Montessori elementary training for children, ages (6-9) at the Montessori Teacher’s college in San Diego. Since Sept. 2011, she has been applying her training to the children at Alpha, and the results have been phenomenal.

The children are learning to understand instructions given to them in English. They are constructing sentences in English. They are interested in English, math, geometry, geography, sciences and human values. Their curiosity is being awakened as is apparent from the questions they are asking and the way they are thinking. The new learning has invoked interest in studies, which has brought behavior modification in these children.

There is great hope for the children of this underprivileged community.

Best Wishes and Regards,

Amita Bardwick, Founder,

AMS StudentsMaria Montessori School Fundraiser - June 2010
            MMS Logo

The 4th and 5th grade students at Maria Montessori School in San Diego, California, held a fund  raising event in June 2010 to support their sister school, Alpha Montessori School.

The children sold cookies which they brought from home and jewelry, such as earrings,
necklaces and bracelets, which were donated by parents and teachers. The cookies and jewelry were sold during lunch time and after school. The customers were other MMS students, their families, and teachers.

The 4th and 5th grade students raised $900, which pays for the tuition, books, supplies and uniforms for three Alpha children for the 2010-2011 school year! We are thrilled for AMS students and especially proud of the 4th and 5th graders of Maria Montessori School for their contribution and hard work on behalf of children half way around the world..

Thank you so much!
